A detailed and vague account of my escapist adventures, my treatise's on the world, social commentary, and homage to ninjas, dragons, and ninjas with dragon heads.

Weekend time!

So instead of just a bunch of posts I'll slip this into one post. Last weekend started with my cousins birthday. It was pretty cool to see his younger brother who just started at UTA and the effects college life has had on him thus far. My older cousin, we'll call him John, evidently has become somewhere between hobbified and fascinated with maps, which explains his present a wall sized... I forget which, either an Eckert or Peters projection map. Basicly, it's a map that accurately portrays the the land mass of the world, and centers it correctly on the equator and all I can say is DAMN. Westerners sure do love distorting the world, I mean it makes sense cause we're awesome, but still it's insane to see just how big africa is compared to everything else. Oh and indonesia is almost the size of the US! Not in land mass, but like if you drew a circle around all the islands. Waaay bigger than the little sliver usually used to represent it. Here's a pic of the birthday boy and cake.

So once I got home from that outing I hitup Afrah Pastries with tool, ashley, thomas and eric. I love that place. For those who've never been, afrah pastries is like a foodmarket/restaurant/hookah bar (minus the booze) in downtown richardson across from the police station. Think of it like a braums... but persian. It's always so chill to sit out on the padio and smoke a hookah and get some hummas and baklava.

So saturday... I don't remember what I did saturday night but it was probably lame. However saturdayday wen, wes and myself went to see Two for the Money and Green Street Hooligans. Both were good movies, but what I think seriously made them great for me is the analysis of their respective dark topics, addiction to gambling and addiction to violence. I'd highly recommend both, though I enjoy'd GSH more.

Then came sunday, and it was a return to the Cavern. First we stopped off by Gingerman which is always fun. The best thing though about Sundays is that there's no crowd anywhere. Easy parking, easy seat finding, etc. Ricki Derek was again performing Frank covers. Now, one might think there really isn't a way you can top a chill tucked away greenville lounge with a sinatra cover artist, and prior to Sunday night I would have been inclined to agree. However, I've since realized Frank covers in a sexy lounge isn't an awesome thing, it's awesome power to fuel awesome things!

Things like girls dancing!!

And things like girls cuddling on couches!!!

And things like girls... whatever that is on couches!!!

After a brief stop over at the aqualounge before close, tool and I chilled out for several hours and hit up the late night jack n box. And thus concluded my weekend. The End.

Jealous of that damn couch,
me.
